Berry Banana Dairy-Free Smoothie

Smoothies are a great and quick breakfast that can be both gluten and dairy-free.  Here’s a quick and easy recipe to kick start your morning with lots of nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • Handful of blueberries
  • Handful of strawberries (I used 4)
  • Almond Milk
  • 2 spoonfuls of Flaxseed

Smoothie Ingredients

  1. Pour a little bit of almond milk into the blender along with the banana cut into slices and blend those together first.
  2. Add the blueberries to the blender and blend those into the mix. Blueberries
  3. Add the strawberries into the blender.  I used 4 strawberries and I sliced them up to make it easier on my blender.  (my blender is not perfect).Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset
  4. Add the 2 (more or less) spoonfuls of Flaxseed and blend.flaxseed
  5. Add some ice and more almond milk and blend that into the smoothie.  This takes away some of the thickness from the banana, making it easier to drink.
  6. You’re done!  Enjoy.

Berry Banana Smoothie

This smoothie has a lot of fiber in it which is really beneficial for those of us who eat gluten-free diets and don’t get to eat whole wheat and whole grains.  The flaxseed adds that extra fiber which keeps you fuller longer.  The blueberries add antioxidants, the smoothie in general is jam-packed with nutrients and deliciousness.
